Who We Are

freshfieldsanimalminding.com is run by two people who have worked at Freshfields Animal Rescue Centre for many years.

Dave Callender has worked there on and off since the charity bought its site in Liverpool in 1987. He has managed its kennels for 2 years, its cattery for 5 and managed the entire site for the last 5 years, before recently stepping down. He still runs its feral cat programme.

Caroline Taylor has managed the busy cattery there for the last 3 years, admitting over 850 cats in 2007. They both live and breathe animals.

Dave and Caroline have 3 of their own rescue bitches, all very socialised, excellent with all other animals and very used to all manner of boarding dogs coming into their own family home. Lilly is a partially blind older jack russell who still loves water, kids, getting into bed at night with Dave and tramping the hills. Mable is a young Patterdale who loves balls, games, children, tripe sticks and her mum Caroline. Soxy is a middle aged quiet Cairn cross who loves the sunshine, pottering in the park and holidays. They also have 4 cats one of whom is blind. All 4 were nursed back from acute medical problems to full health. When they go on holiday they will generally take all their animals away with them! Including the cats!

Both Caroline and Dave are used to dealing with petcare professionals, they have spent years juggling the needs of many many needy animals, coping with the stresses of the rescue environment as well as the concerns and worries of new adoptees whilst settling animals into new homes.

They are here to help you and your pets!
